October Wrap-Up: 3 Ideas, 2 Things I Loved, and 1 Question 🎯
As we round the corner on October, here are 3 ideas to carry forward, 2 things I loved this month, and 1 question to guide you into November.
3 Ideas to Carry Forward
💡 Challenge your thoughts.
Not every thought is true or helpful. In fact, I’d go out on a limb and say most of them aren’t! Learning to pause and question unhelpful thoughts creates room for clarity and growth.
Where can you use your own version of this today? When your brain offers a negative thought, challenge yourself to come up with a few more versions and then choose the one that makes you feel best.
💡 Less is often more.
Focusing on what truly matters—rather than trying to do it all—might just be the key to feeling calm and not overwhelmed.
💡 Just get started. Even if you screw up.
Being good at things takes time. The first step is often messy, like that first pancake in a batch. The key is to start anyway.
2 Things I Loved This Month
📺 Netflix Show: Nobody Wants This
This show is funny, deep, and light—and it will make your heart hurt, all in one episode. I loved the cute, complex relationship between Hot Rabbi and Kristen Bell as the not-Jewish (hence the tension) Dating Podcaster.
📚 Book: Lady Tan’s Circle of Women
OMG, this book! It’s historical fiction about Lady Tan, a female physician in 15th-century China. The real message is the power of female friendships and just how tough we are. (Also, did you know they broke their feet to make them small in order to secure the best marriage options? I went down a whole rabbit hole on foot binding and told my daughter how lucky we are to have the freedom we do today!)
1 Question to Reflect On
🤔 What’s one thing I can let go of this month to make space for what truly matters?
I hope your October wraps up with all of your favorite Halloween candy. If something in this email resonates, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Just shoot me an email at michelle@michellegauthier.com.
