The One Second Highlight

Check out this amazing photo of my daughter competing at her horse show a few weeks ago.

She looks poised, the horse looks strong, it’s a beautiful moment! And also it is a ONE SECOND HIGHLIGHT of the 19 hours (!!) that we spent at the show that weekend.

What’s not shown?

😒 Sitting around waiting for her turn at the horse show for hours.

😝 Being super annoyed at the waiting, and the smell, and the dirt everywhere (this was just me, she loves it).

🙄 Her anxious pre-show mood which = take it out on mom.

😥 Missing the day with my handsome man friend, on his birthday.

😴 Getting up at 6 am on Saturday.

🥱 All of the days and hours of my life spent at the barn.

😱 The fall she took in a later event, which caused her to be disqualified.

And the list goes on. . .

This is just a friendly reminder not to compare someone’s “one second highlight” to your entire life.

PS This “behind the scenes look” is a more accurate representation of the real story. No children or horses were harmed in this fall.🤣
