Don’t Stay in Your Lane

Beyonce put out a country album and the “controversy” about it is killing me.

😡 Why did the queen of R&B/Pop have to make a country album?
😡 What business does she have in country music? 
😡 Does she qualify as a real country artist? 
😡 How do the country artists feel about her making an album in “their” genre? 

Why do we do this? Why do we assign women a lane and tell them to stay in it?!? 

We can ALL change. We can ALL choose again.

Think about this sentence as it relates to your life. 

I used to be ________________ and now I __________________. 

Beyonce: I used to put out R&B albums, but now I have a country album. 

Me: I used to be married, and now I’m divorced.

Me: I used to have a corporate job and now I own my own business.

What would you like yours to be? 

💕 I used to be single and now I am in a healthy relationship.
💕 I used to be fearful and now I am brave. 
💕 I used to only do things for others, and now I take care of myself.
💕 I used to work full time and now I work part time. 

Whatever you want your future to look like, you should go for it. Get out of your lane. Pick a new one! Who cares what they say. You have every right to try again, choose again, start again.
