Slow Down

You’ve worked hard all month. You’ve planned, you’ve shopped, you’ve cooked, you’ve prepared, you’ve run 117 errands, you’ve wrapped, you’ve lost some sleep. All while carrying on with your regular work life! Now is the time to just CHILL and arrive at the new year with ease.

Try one (or all!) of these and see how you feel.

1️⃣Put away your phone.

2️⃣Be still. Simply sit down and be where you are.

If you are alone, notice your environment. What do you smell? What can you see? What do you hear? How does the air feel on your skin?

If you are with other people, be fully present. Listen to the conversation without feeling the need to lead it.

3️⃣Single-task. Don’t make a to-do list in your head while you’re eating dinner. Just do one thing. Don’t answer your work emails while you’re on a call. Just do one thing.

PS: Single-tasking is the hardest for me. My brain always tells me to be more “efficient” and do more things at once.I don’t actually think it’s efficient at all, since our brain can’t fully focus on two things at once. It’s incredibly calming to just do one thing at a time. Try it!
