It's Dark Already!?

Most people I know hate daylight savings. There’s something about getting dark early that just makes a lot of people feel down. 


I invite you to change your thoughts on it getting dark early. 


Think of it as a time to turn inward. To rest. To cozy up in your own home. To finish that book you’ve been reading. To make some soup and curl up with a blanket. To go to bed early and catch up on sleep. 


Our thoughts always create our feelings. 


A thought like “I feel like I can’t get anything done when it gets dark early” will surely make you feel uneasy and rushed and you will indeed get nothing done. 


A thought like “What a nice opportunity to rest and be cozy at home” will likely make you feel comforted and you will indeed enjoy your dark night at home. 


A small shift in your thoughts can make all the difference.

PS Another fun thing to do is to grab and light all of the candles in your house, light them, and then turn off all of the lights. Celebrate the darkness and change of seasons with your family. Have everyone list one reason why they like the darkness and/or winter season. 


PPS My handsome man friend is one of the people who really does not enjoy the early darkness. I’ll report back to let you know if he tries the candles and the thought changing. Stay tuned 🤣🕯️
