Whale Watching, Glacier Climbing, or Rainforest Exploring
When I was 20, I studied in Germany for a summer. My class was made up of international students, so I had the good fortune to make friends from all over the world. After that experience, I saw life through a different lens, and I loved it.
I’ve dreamed of giving my kids the experience of visiting other countries and cultures. But there were a million reasons why it couldn’t work.
My overwhelmed brain told me: It’s expensive. The travel to get there will take forever and my kids will complain. I can’t take off work. The kids are too young to appreciate it. What if they don’t have chicken nuggets where we go and my kids starve? I can’t even find time to empty the dishwasher, much less plan a big adventure.
But here’s where the magic that happens when you live your life from a place of calm, instead of overwhelm.
You can think clearly. You can make decisions and have fun and create adventures!
First, I chose the thought “international travel alone with my kids is possible”.
Then, I put the adventure on my vision board.
Next, I scheduled the time off work, because I can do that.
I accepted that traveling alone with kids might be harder, but I’m willing to experience all of it.
I saved money and ear marked a generous Christmas gift to go toward the trip.
I don’t know where we’re going yet, but I know we’re going. It’s as good as done.
You too can have as much fun as you want. If your fun adventures sound impossible, reach out to me for a free discovery session. I can help you get clear on what you want, and help you make it happen!
